Dr. Erich Wanagat grew up in south-eastern Michigan and enlisted in the military shortly after high school. After several years in the military and with a deep desire to pursue an optometric career, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology from Ferris State University and subsequently was awarded a U.S. Air Force scholarship to attend the Indiana University School of Optometry. Following his graduation, he began his third round in the military delivering optometric care to DoD personnel, beneficiaries and allied partner nation patients throughout the world.
Dr. Wanagat brings a wealth of expertise and passion for eye health to our practice.
Not only does he enjoy providing thorough comprehensive routine and medical eye care, he has a special interest in aviation and occupational vision. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Wanagat retired from the US Air Force in 2022 from Langley Air Force Base and in his free time, he enjoys fishing, travelling, and working in his yard.
